Stone is Earth's most beautiful, abundant, and sustainable material and today's high-end 3D printing technology can produce rocket engines. We strove to combine the beauty of both materials with precision, applying our CAD expertise across both subtractive and additive manufacturing. Starting with the stone itself, we stripped away a negative space and painstakingly crafted a 3-dimensional Voronoi mesh. We then identified suppliers able to produce the structure at full scale in metal, open to a variety of finishing treatments.
